yeah but if the air box is restrictive, replacing it would/should help just like any engine that needs air to runCan't see the point really, a diesel engine regulates itself by restricting the supply of fuel not the supply of air.
From time to time, the air intake on DAF's (12 litre in-line 6's) tends to work loose so and in effect by-passes the filter completely.
The truck tends to run worse than with the filter assembly as it should be!
Makes you wonder......
