Anyone with a SIM free/unbranded k810i - Favour please

I've had mine a couple of months now, bought it Sim Free and unlocked.

As you can see, mines probably the oldest phone. the last 6 digits being the date, 28th March 07. Probably means date of last firmware update.

I also cant get it to update by either using the USB cable and SEUP service, despite installing the very latest update software yesterday.

Also by trying to do it via the Update option in Settings.

Both return a "you have the latest " software message.

I am interested as to how you can update the firmware on this phone without it being a SE release?

Any suggestions as to what to do would be appreaciated.

The SEUS didn't work and usually says 'up to date' for Orange branded phones anyway.

There are sites offering firmware upgrades but I think it crosses questionable grounds as far as the forum is concerened.

I dont understand this, my firmware was installed in March 07, its probably one of the oldest K810i's

But it wont update either through the phone or via USB lead.
How can non SE sites off firmware updates? are they by SE by some hacker?
 
The screen shuts down for no reason whilst your typing a text or making a call.

As if its crashed. I know there is something no right about it, and its a software fault.

To be honest, i think the phone is top class, best phone i've ever had.

Will be upgrading to the K850 for sure
