If so, what is your job role exactly? Are you a train driver or a ticket office attendee?
And lastly, how do you sleep at night?
I've got 7 exams coming up in June. And you ****tards want to go on strike because two guys got the sack. And said strike is right in the middle of my exam period and many others.
Not to mention the disruption it is going to cause to the rest of London! These planned strikes are meant to be scheduled for two weeks!
The two guys in question, just to let those who don't know, are believed by the transport unions to have been sacked because they are union activists and so they're claiming unfair dismissal. From what I can tell the transport unions are getting their backs up for two main reason in relations to conventional strikes which may have led to the 'sacking' of these two men. They are 1) The demand for increased pay, 2) The loss of ticket office jobs.
Now I can understand the general disappointment at the loss of jobs. Nobody likes to live in fear of loss of jobs and nobody likes to see their colleagues cut loose either. But the pay?! Train drivers alone earn £45k a year! That's about £850 a week for sitting on their backsides pushing a lever and telling people to mind the doors. Perhaps if everyone wasn't paid so bloody damn much TFL would be more inclined to keep more people in their jobs.
Oh and another thing, my oyster card costs too much to justify all the delays. So signal men, sort your act you incompetent *****'s.
