Tried to connect a Playstation 2 control pad via an adapter to a Wii in order to play classic games. I'm buffered if I'm paying nearly £10 for a GC pad and figured I could grab a couple of cheap PS2 pad and adapters. just wondered if anyone had a bash at this ?

or am I being a pleb again ?

How would you even do that? does the wii have usb ports? or is there some sort of adaptor you can get to plug a ps2 pad into the game cube port, or the wii controller port (thats where the classic pad plugs in) Reading this back, im pretty sure it must be impossible :o

You;ll pay more than £10 for the sort of adaptor you'll need if it even exists (not heard of it before)

Just buy a GC pad

can you play VC games with the game cube pad then? i've only used it to play melee. I thought you needed a classic controller to do this.

A certain high street store has their own version available for about 7 or 8 quid, iirc. Gotta be easier, tbh... in fact I dunno if it would even be possible to use a Sony controller on a Nintendo console. Never heard of it before.

Yeah, all VC games currently work with a GCN pad, as well as all the GCN games (obviously) whereas the Classic Controller can only be used for VC games but won't work with GCN games. That's why I've not bothered about the Classic controller - I got a Wavebird for wireless, and a couple of wired GCN ones for mates to use.
