I like to game, but I'm also a photographer.

Running Titan X Pascal, so got the power.

Currently got a Dell U3514W, but the Asus PG348Q sounds awesome... however I'm prone to spending money, so any reason where my Dell may be better?

Or anything worth waiting for?

Congrats on the new Titan! How is it with the U3415W?

In regards to the new stuff there a few things in the Ultrawide space (assuming that's what you're looking for!), AUO are producing 144Hz / 200Hz 1440p Ultrawides this year (should be in production now) which hopefully are up to the job http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/35.htm#auo_panels_june

LG are making a IPS 144Hz 1440p Ultrawide in 2017 too http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/35.htm#lg.display_144hz

Samsung are making a 100Hz VA ultrawide as well

LG are also making a 37.5" Ultrawide (3840 x 1600 Res) which has made an appearance for Acer somewhat recently:

Thanks, looks like I should wait a while and enjoy my Dell some more..

When it comes to photography i've got in my head I can only trust the colour output of a dell..makes it difficult to branch out ..

3440x1440p max with Titan X is now solid capped 60fps over ~40-45 of my 980ti :) Not the greatest example, but what can I say - it's nice :D Overwatch up to 160fps on EPIC @ 100% res ...

I tried to overclock the U3415W last night but found that it skipped frames over 60hz, damn

Yeah the DP1.3/1.4 monitors should start showing up soon. I just wish Dell would do super wide curved 34"+ monitor with gysnc. Overall they're customer service is better than either Asus or Acer.

Best

Don't know what's happening with the Dell 4k oled, would recommend that but still no release date.

But as said the new dp with higher bandwidth should allow for more denser displays that would push your titan, 8k displays and a new ultra wide 5120x2160 standard perhaps

I want that lg monitor, love my current one but 144hz sounds amazing. Fingers crossed it has gsync.

I'm sure the LG rep on here has already said it won't... LG have never made a G-Sync 21:9, the panel was used by Asus and Acer in their models though, so it's possible we may see that this time around, but it will be at least a year or so before that happens.

It's a panel, not a monitor. So G-SYNC support is certainly possible, but LG themselves don't currently have any G-SYNC models nor are there any in the pipeline currently. Keep an eye out at IFA early next month though! :)

Never had gsync before, but from my understanding from posters on here. Gsync is very important on a high hz monitor, is that true?

It depends entirely on the games you play, settings you like to use and your own sensitivity to tearing and stuttering. I explore this in detail in all of my reviews of G-SYNC monitors. And I've reviewed several.

It's funny, because i also like the Dell monitors, but more from a QC and ergonomic point of view. I just wish they made them with Freesync!

A bit disappointing really. Reading those links the decent ones wont be out till mid 2017 so thats another year away.

Nothing much seems to have change in the last year, its all a bit dull.

There is nothing out there to make me spend my money :(

Plus ideally I want a 3840 x 1600 144Hz oled curved screen for around £1000.

I suspect that will be 2020 though :(
