Anyway to from basic -> premium with vista?

Just pick up a lappy for the wife after her POS packardbell died, it came with 512mb (less actually, it robs 64mb for the vga!) and vista basic.

I've already chucked more ram at it, but was wondering if it's possible to upgrade between versions to get a few more toys...?
