anyway to get the user area (my doc') to show under my computer in vista?

Better off having a shortcut on your Quick Launch bar. Quicker and one less click than via My Computer. If the purpose is to quickly copy things there, add a shortcut to your SendTo menu.

you could "subst" the documents folder as another drive letter if that's what you are after.

I'm still using XP so not sure if Vista has the subst command. But you would have to use it at each time you logon in a batch file.
