Does anyone have experience with those monitors? They do seem similar, with the AOC one having tad better blacks but 100hz refresh rate, and the Z35P bit better response times and 120hz refresh rate .

Price wise their difference is around £90, with the AOC been cheaper.

Thoughts?

Just returned a z35P. Couldn't live with the washed out colours after x34a and didn't think the contrast was anything special over an IPS. Colour shift was pretty bad also, visible shift sat right in front of it. Nice curve on it though and 35 did feel bigger than 34.

Going to wait a couple of weeks to see if there's any update on the new ultrawide coming out. If not I'll grab an aw34.

LG has a Nano-IPS 3440x1440 coming out, but we are looking March at the usual exuberant pricing at around £1000.
While the AOC for example goes for less than 800 atm.

I know @tyler_jrb

I'd wait the 3/4 months personally, then you'll have more options :)
However by that time I will be half way out of the country...... While the 2730Z is flickering again and is out of warranty. So need new monitor now, especially since I am on holidays the next 8 weeks. :)

Second-hand X34/PG348 then, you know you won't be taking a big hit when the LG is available :)

X34 is not even 100hz monitor. And given the prices of second hand, I rather spend £50 more to get the AOC which current price around is £770 and don't have to deal with BLB etc.

Nah I know, just run out of comments lol. Got my Asus for £600 and only a few months old, not expecting to lose much on it once I sell (mainly because monitors are just going up and up and up!!!)

For the sake of 20Hz I'd probably go for the AOC, bet you couldn't really tell the difference anyhow!!

@tyler_jrb has recently switched from the PG348Q and a Z35P and is as happy as larry with it apparantly.

Cheers mate. After all the best the GTX1080Ti can do is around 110s at 2560x1440, 100hz monitor 3440x1440 will serve me well for as long as I keep the 1080Ti.

@tyler_jrb any feedback mate?

It's the perfect rez and Hz for the Ti and will last til the next Ti shows up easily! Not seen Tyler around of late tbh.
Cheers.

Seeing at OCNET, there are numerous revisions on the AOC monitor. Last one September 2017 :/
All previous one, (Feb, March, May, July) has issues with the Gsync module or colour or flickering. :/ Same applies to the Z35P.

Hmm.

@tyler_jrb thank you for the extensive experience sharing mate. I appreciate it.
@Doug2507 cheers mate.

My problem is that the 2730Z is gone :/ started flickering again and now is impossible to do anything with it. Hence using the small netbook.
That was the 4th replacement, brand new, last December. Within 19 months until then, had replaced it three more times due to flickering since got the first one in April 2015. :/

And all new monitors are coming March or later. (those 200hz ones the panel is going to start been manufactured later in December according to AUO if all goes well).
March is the time when the LG Gsync monitors hit. the 32" 2560x1440 and the 34" nano-IPS 3440x1440. But thats 4-5 months away from now.
(Still I do not get why the 32" monitor is available in USA only and not in Europe until March).
