AOL Network Problem

A friend has AOL Silver BB and is connected through a D-Link DSL G604T. 2 PCs are connected wirelessly. The wireless network works fine with good signasl strength. Both PCs are running XP Home SP2. I set up the modem/router for him OK but if the power to the router is turned off it loses the username and password, reverts to the default settings and cannot reconnect. If I go into the router via the browser and reset the username and password it works OK again.
Any help would be appreciated.

From what I remember about D-Link routers you have to actually save the settings, seperately from applying. On the left side of the screen there are some (3?) menu headers, under the last one there is something like 'Save Settings and Reboot' (it has been ages since I've looked at one, but I think that is the rough wording) and if you do that it should save the settings.
