After recently noticing a dip in my download speeds and checking the AOl braodband packages and noticing they have download limited accounts i sent AOl an email asking im my unlimited broadband pakcage was affected by this, got the email today

i have checked your details and i see that your current price plan is on AOL Broadband Gold up to 8Mb without Modem - Renewal - ?24.99 and the download limit is 10 GB.
However for further assistance i would request you to go to Keyword terms and conditions

Now to say im ****** off would be an understatment espically since i had just renewed my contract for AOL in july and there was no mention of limited accounts being introduced, if i wasnt for my eagle eye i still would have been in the dark about my downloads being limited to 10gb espically at £24.99 a month.

Ive asked the guy in the AOl live help and he said it was all true, so i asked if i was to cancel my contract if i would be fined by AOl and he said yes

Now my only option is to call thier customer support line at 10-20 p a min and argue with them about who broke the contact 1st me or them.

Well that kind of sucks really, do they do a true unlimited option that you could maybe migrate onto for the rest of your contract period?

I doubt that you would be able to argue they broke the contract, they will have just changed their terms and conditions of usage. Something that they probably reserve the right to do without any prior notice.

From what i can see on thier website the 10gb bb is only £14.99 (in avaibale areas) or add +£5, the only other option is a 40gb dl limit package which is £19.99, again only in slelected areas otherwise +£10 more and of course im not in the avaiable area.

If they had only the honesty to send me an email saying that they were going to kick me off unlimted as they dont seem to do it anymore onto a dl limit account and would have offered me the chance to cancel my contract, that would have been fine with me, but nope they decided to do this behind my bac and just keep taking my money, wonder if i should threating them with trade and standerds?

Dude they introduced the caps back in January or February. Most people jumped ship during the 30 days notice we were given (it's Talk Talks fault anyway).

They didnt say anything to me about the download limit when i signed up for 8mb bb in july, was just an upgrade from the gold package, if i had knowing that the sneaky b******* were going to do that i would have cancelled my sub as it had just ended then.

Tho I didn't realise the limit was as low as 10gb for the Gold package :/
