Looks lime their going belly up wonder where this leaves us folks that shelled out on apb?

Hahaha just heard on the radio. Didn't know RTW was based in Dundee. Tbh the game looked pish in videos and it's reviews were also pish. Shame the company has to fold over it.

Such is the investment required per game in the industry, it's hardly surprising that it just takes one complete shocker of a title for a firm to go belly up :(

Unfortunately it's facts like those that make high-budget, 'lets try something completely new' games virtually unheard of :(

Anyone playing the game for 5 minutes would realise how bad it was why on earth the dev team didn't realise it I don't k ow

It was utter rubbish no wonder it fails. Even the staff working on it told them it wasn't working but they didn't care.

Haters gonna hate. Really, APB wasnt that bad, there was just a huge gap between what was promoted (free for all battles between cops and robbers) and the reality (juddery graphics, repetitive missions, huge hitboxes, no real character development). This might have been an ok game if the mp had been free but there was no way anyone was going to pay cash on a monthly basis.

PLUS the beta was a clown-fest with only a select group of players playing regularly whilst everyone else played 3 hours every sunday. THat turned me off immediately and made me bin the game and try fallen earth.

Anyway sad to see them go down, but you have to wonder about the choices some of these companies make.

It's not really a shame though is it? If you make junk, you're not going to sell much. I feel sorry for the people that have lost their jobs, but no more so that the thousands of others that have also lost theirs in recent times. In fact I feel less sorry for them, because sometimes people lose their jobs because they are ill or the company has been mis-managed. In this case, they all chipped in to produce a massive pile of excretory waste.

Sleepless - you begin with 'APB wasnt that bad', and then proceed to list a host of reasons why it was complete dog doo .

Ah I quite liked it, for the 9 hours i bothered to play it. The good stuff was driving around a 'live' city ala GTA, the shoot outs were quite good, especially the co-op even if the hot boxes were bigger than my **** and there was no real accuracy to the guns... ah there we go again, into the bad points. The biggest problem though was promoting it as a crrrrazy shoot out game when it was GTA jiddery lite.

exactly
you can tell 99% of the time when they have a beta like that (only online for a few hours every week?) and a press review lockdown like they did (WAY over the line) that it's either a)pap and they know it and just want to hide it from consumers or b)pap and someone knows it and wants to hide it from investors

Actually the method used was to test specific things at set times.
Rather than let people play a game for free and not report bugs.
