Mainly due to his manic Christian beliefs, this film ends on an optimistic note when the Missionaries arrive, now how good was that for the locals??

I have seen this too and I can say what a great film it was.

I loved Passion of the Christ and generaly like Mel himslef. Im not bothered about his religious beliefs etc. Thats all by the by. But his ability as a director is second to none. His acting is also very good. I thought his portrayal of
W. Wallace was superb.

In fact Passion of Christ is up there as one of my fav movies of all time.
