apocolypse survival kit

Gps will still work, as will antsy thing pre loaded, maps/navigation, survival books, medical books and that sort of thing,
Phones aren't just phones anymore.

In a survival situation though I'd rather have the physical things than a piece of technology that could go wrong, I wouldn't have the knowledge to fix the phone if it went **** up and would feel much better having the papers in my hand. Same goes for any type of book really, plus people could just use a Kindle or other E-reader if they wanted books, surely the battery would last far longer than any smartphone. Though I do agree that GPS would be a handy thing to have.

But you could have a few physical. But the amount you can store on a phone is phenomenal and far more than you can carry in physical form not to say hard copies aren't a good precaution. But they will be very limited.
Also after a few months in the wilderness you would learn what there is to eat and what's safe.

Yeah I can see your point, you could have thousands of books on one small device as opposed to carrying a bag full it would definitely be incredibly handy but personally I'd be too afraid of it going wrong. I'd still take my phone and a spare battery with me, but it wouldn't be the first thing I grabbed or packed away and I'd definitely have some physical maps packed away. Though with all this said and done I'd probably just try and barricade my house as best I could and use that as a "base" from which to go out and look for supplies.

I would also be looking at getting out of civilisation and into a large woods or Forrest. Probably Forrest of dean being closest for me as well as the edges of it being very close to the Severn.

Humans will be hunting humans, but more than that. Depending on the apocalypse. There would be bodies everywhere. Rats would increase and flea population would explode. Meaning transmission of nay diesel becomes easy, like the black plague.
In woods/Forrest you have plenty of fuel and shelter as well as food.

Quite a lot of people are forgetting the essential thing: a firesteel/flint/charcloth etc. A friend of mine did some work in Bosnia, exhuming bodies. Apparently the one thing in common was that they all carried a fire starting kit around, and this wasn't the dark ages, it was the '90's. When civilisation falls apart in falls apart quickly, and the things we take for granted soon disappear.I doubt many of the 'youth' of today would last long ;)

FleshLight :D

I'd pack a 22 pistol too, light weight ammo. A solar charger and LED torches, among other things.

  • Crossbow + bolts. Guns are too loud and ammo hard to come by.
  • Knife / Machete - to make new bolts / arrows.
  • Flint + kindling - for fire.
  • Kindle loaded with Survival guides - for tips / tricks.
  • Waterproof sack / bag to keep all in.
  • Rope.
  • Solarpanel charger + batteries + LED torch.
  • Wind up Radio.
  • Camouflage + gillie suit.
  • Good pair of walking boots.

Loads of goretex products
fire starting kit
condoms incase i get lucky
knives
rope
radio (solar/wind up)
a gun (for when i decide I CBA anymore)
Nickel plexi waterblock (morale booster)

Then i'd find as many people as i can. Why? because you can stay sane and work as teams
