To Zefan for having to delete it.

I was actually halfway through a follow up post, having wanted to just see how many people followed the link.

On the news this morning was yet another piece on how many people get caught out by scams.

and 99.9% of virii and scams can be spotted a mile off with just a minimum ammount of knowledge and scepticism.

OK so we were at 144 on the minicity thing and thought it would be fun to see how much further up we could get from clickers that didn't know what they were doing as well. - Seemed to be an innocent use of a misdirection.

I get hacked off with the ammount of *WARNING* - this trojan is going round - emails I get from people that should just know better.

Apology/rant over.

Explain ?
You saying theres something else behind the minicity thing or just that you used the unknowing people to bump us up the rankings, currently 135 ?

I think his "point" was to see who would click a link without actually seeing where it went first. An intersting experiment, but not really suitable for these forums

Virii is an incorrect pluralisation.

Really? I thought it was a word in common parlance. There are plenty of dictionaries with it as a definition online. /edit - not that I want to start an argument about it - innocent msitake was all.

was that minicity thing a scam?

And no Minicities isn't a scam. Or at least not as far as I am aware.

Yup just work intervened. The director who had sent me the email that started me on this thread was stood having a conversation with me! Hence the really badly put together thread.

Innocent mistake is fine - I wasn't really shouting at you or angry :p!

It's a popular modern pluralisation which is probably why it's found in several online dictionaries, but taken from the latin it's 'viruses'.

Damn caught out by those young 'uns again then. I half wish VIRII was still on the forums just for that response though ;o)

so the "no script" plugin in firefox doesn't protect you alway

I'll have to resist the urge to click during working hours then.

Hang on, isn't this just an even stealthier Mini City thread? :D

People will read this and go investigate minicity some more... Clever, clever my friend.

I googled minicity before I clicked it. I don't do clicking links I don't recognise. Interesting experiment though
