I must apologise to all the ati fans, i have always bought nvidia, simply as i thought it was better. I bought a 295 last week and yeah it was expensive i know, i have just built my friends system and put in a ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 "Rampage Deluxe" 2048MB GDDR5 and man i can't belive how good it is on gaming. I was actually in so much shock im thinking of selling my 295 to a friend who will give me 95% of what i paid, so no big loss and getting an ati card myself. The price of that was like 100 below the price i paid for mine. So from now on I won't be slagging off ati, and i think ill be investing in a 4870 x 2 rampage deluxe or a similar ati card tomorrow.

:)

Strange post, but fair enough. Considered the 4890? It may well be more than you need anyway, and you can always add a second

the 4890 isnt better than the 4870 x 2 is it? i do want to be able to max all games out, so some advice on the best ati card would be great.

apology lol, you have made some very inmature and unwanted comments in the last few days including a thread of mine. ATI is crap you say eating your words now arent we.:o

You mean the marketing men at Nvidia misled you! What is the world coming too?

Yes blind brand loyalty is great for companies and bad for you.

I'm very happy with my 4870 x2 and at current prices they are incredible value BUT I certainly would not rip out a 295 gtx I had already bought and replace it with an x2 even if it did mean I could pocket around 100 quid.

Don't be hard on a guy who has seen that things are not as they seem & that things are closer than is portrayed by marketing & others.

I think you should keep your GTX295 for the time being, no point buying a 4870 x2 as newer cards are coming soon.

I dont mind having the GTX 295 but I'm not going to play silly money for it. I was well happy when I got my 4890 for £140. I would only buy parts that are value for money, Couple of frames difference is not going to kill me. I like my 4890 so much, bought me another 4890. First time having a dual graphic cards in my system.

I never quite understand this "fan boy" stuff.. You wouldn't do the same with vacuum cleaners, say between Electrolux and hoover. You choose the one that sucks the best, is good on the floor, feels comfortable and doesn't cost the earth.. regardless of manufacturer.

sucks the best

I really hope you wouldn't choose the one that sucks the best with the majority of products! :p

Anyway OP, there's so many nVidiots on these forums that your comments just get lost in the avalanche anyway, I wouldn't worry about it.

n00bs, nVidia 0wnZ ATI SuX0rZ l0lz

seriously, yea, fan boyism is foolish, i have a preference to nvidia, but that only from not having bad experience with them yet, and for some reason disliking ATI....even though i prefer red to green....

When ATI happen to have the "top" card whn i also happen to be buying new cards, ill give them my money. I think Nvidia have managed to keep there release cycle in line with when i decide its time to/can afford to upgrade. gits.

Your off your rocker imo

4870X2 is a top card... but between my 260GTX SLI and the 4870X2 I'd have gone for the SLI setup every time for the more stable "feel" to performance.

Now if you were out to buy a new card, then the 295GTX is still way too much money above the 4870X2 to reccomend it - but as you already have the card... madness I say.

If you really think the X2 is so much better... you need to pay some attention to your 295GTX setup.

thanks for all the advice, so you guys think i should keep my 295 then. What would u class as the 2nd best card after the 295. Is there any difference between the 295 and the next one down

trust huddy to chose the worst ever comparison. you go for the best product that sucks the most, great decission making there, lol

Fanboy the modern way of calling someone an idiot without the aggression. Much as i like my X2 i wouldn't recommend bining your 295 to get one and just have a closer look at things next time you upgrade putting all the marketing bs out of your mind and making a choice based on as many reviews as you can stand reading :).

Don't bring that up there is so many Henry fan boys out there.

As for ai/nvidia. it all depends what you want. Nvidia tend to be the faster card. But don't offer 2x cards or at least don't release them fast like ati and ati is obviously cheaper. But then Nvidia is much better at physx and folding. So it all depends on price and what you are looking for.

ROFLMAO Electrolux are L33T!!!! All you Dyson noobs need to QQ moar

I think I would keep the 295. I don't consider myself an ATi fan especially, just that I've had more of their gpu's and had a smoother ride regarding cards dying on me / heat issues etc. Decent of you to wipe the slate clean, takes a bit of good sense to do that, you've done a good thing:)
