App for making a USB bootable?

I've got hold of a ibm x31 with no drives so i'm hoping i can make my 8gb stick bootable for it.

At the moment I've followed this method: here

I've used another couple of "tutorials" but have had no luck. Also i updated my bios and i can see it my bios but its not coming up as a bootable device.

Its a Sandisk Cruzer u3 8gb - i've removed the u3 (virtual iso thing) from the drive and formatted.

Are there any good apps out there that can do something? Or is my drive not bootable?

Could give this a go but you need to be able to boot from usb

Last time I installed a os from usb stick I used this guide -

In fact it was a bios option i was overlooking! I spent most the afternoon doing it! Damn ibm and their lack of ui skills!
