Appalling workmanship

You guys need to read the thread and all linked threads to get the full SP. The guy fixing the wrap posted to say another of the forums reputed wrappers did the wrap. The original owner has then posted to so say no, the wrap was damaged when he was having some tyres fitted, the damage was repaired but didn't match so the tyre fitter then had the entire car re-wrapped. When the owner picked the car up after the re-wrap he said the car looked fine but I can't see how as all you have to do is look at the roof!

That's a horrendous job, why didn't he get the tyre fitter to sort the damage properly ?

How much does a wrap like that cost ?

Pretty much exactly what happened.

The guy that did the original wrap that was damaged is the guy who did the front end protection wrap on my GTR and his work is good.

Great for SKY vans IMO, I just don't get wrapping, or rapping to be honest.

I can see the point of a clear wrap on the snout of your car for stone chip protection.

What is the point of it otherwise?

Surely the point is obvious?

Non damaging, non permanent colour change, matt effects, satin effects etc. whilst providing the secondary benefit of keeping the actual paintwork absolutely pristine.

Means you can very easily have colours that manufacturers don't offer on a car without forever destroying it's value because no one else wants your vomit green GTR.

Spot on.
This is why Stobart have been wrapping their HGV's for years, fancy graphics on the truck and once peeled off, a plain white Scania is left which is ideal for the used truck trade, purchasers are put off by having to have old operators livery removed etc.
Video of a Scania HGV and Mini car getting wrapped for those interested. :)

Got to say that wrap on the GTR is worse than any I've seen on a truck, never mind a car!

Is it just me but in the vid of the Stobart truck being done aren't they committing cardinal sins? Namely, not removing any fittings and running a knife on the bodywork? Look at the bit where the door wraps round to the front grill, the guy seems to run a knife in the gap between the bodywork and grill?
