Aloha good people of the Mobile phones sub forum.

Its about that time again where I get a free upgrade, and its about that time when I dont have a clue whats going on in the mobile phone world.. barring iPhone.

Im a long time Sony Ericsson user (currently K800i), and a long time 3 customer. Im quite happy with my plan although think its a tad overpriced for pay monthly (£30 for 500 any time/network mins and 100 texts). Basically I think I will be heading into the local 3 store to try out phones and beat them down on price.. but what should I be looking at? I like all the bits really.. bluetooth, camera etc..

Any help is much appreciated.

i pay £15 a month with orange and get 100 mins talk and unltd txts. For £25 I can get 600 mins. You should look for a better contract dude.

I would definately not go in store, you will get a much better deal by calling them up and saying you want to cancel.

AS above really, that contract is really bad, im paying £35/m and getting 600 minutes, unlimited texts and free internet with Orange. Thats a free HTC Touch Diamond too, so not really a cheap handset.

Ouch..

I was planning to go in store so I could feel and touch the shiny phones.. but im sure I could change my price plan over the phone if I threaten better contracts, I just have no idea whats out there, and then head in to a store to actually change my phone. Or vice versa, go play with the phones to know what I want and then ring them up... probably the best way.

One thing I dont want to do is have to lose all my numbers..

But I am on the three site and its saying I should take their Mix and Match 700, which is £21 a month, but then you can pay like £7-9 for a Nokia N95 or a C902.. so thats still £30~

Cheers for the input so far.

The SE C902 is a cracking phone, very pleased with mine :) Really slim, first SE phone I've had for a long time, it's really stirdy good quality build to, all I can say is get down to a store and have a feel of it :D

Personally id go into somewhere like the carphone warehouse, be a pain and have a play with a few handsets and then squeeze a good deal out of them. I got a Samsung U600 on T-Mobile Flext 35 for £20 a month, but that was when the U600 had just came out. To be honest I find the Carphone Warehouse pretty decent to deal with, and you can usually beat them down on price if your not after a stupidly expensive handset.

Dont worry about losing your number(s). all you need to do is get a PAC code(s) for it and itll take a few days to transfer when you give the code to your new supplier.

Sony Ericsson phones (and no doubt others, though I've only tried with SE phones) can bluetooth the entire phonebook between each other. Very useful - you can even do it in the shop and walk out with the new phone containing all your numbers!

Go into the store or give em a call... seriously they must even know your contract is a bit pants :(

Im with orange, £30 a month gets 600mins, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile interweb :) And cus im a long time customer i have a 10% discount... £27 a month, cant beat it!

Id defo be speaking to them, o2 do similar to what i have above too, they must be aware of this! Hope you get a better contract and a damn good phone! :)
