appealing or repulsive?

Nice...not liking the flip front though, would prefer an original steel front end...must get started on my Mk1('s) one of these days...
:)

Appealing, definitely.

(I might be biased though, I learnt to drive in a 5-year old L-reg Mk1 1100  :p )

drums on the front?
brave man.

my only concern with the car is it's english axle.

The arches suit it, although I personally prefer the Mk1 to be unarched.
Colour scheme is traditional and timeless.
The front suspension setup can only be an improvement on strut designs and the engine delivers the power the car deserves.

Only bit I'm unsure on is the clamshell front end, but that new inner wing/suspension design pretty much dictates it.

I think it's fantastic.

EDIT

Agree with T_D_S, an Atlas would be preferable.

Fully floating, lots of links and then a Watts linkage on top...sexy...
:D
no experience of a watts linkage.
my mk2 custom was 5 linked and i could crucify absolutely everything on twisty sections but i'm lead to believe a watts linkage makes things even better.
i honestly cannot imagine how this could be so.

Ha, I failed my first car test in it for braking late at junctions :D

Lack of power was more of a problem - let's just say I didn't get much overtaking practice :(

Yep - love it.

If I had the spare cash I would certainly get one. My dads had many Escorts, Mk1's and 2 - sadly before I was born. He had an Mk1 with the "Xpack" on it, basically square wider arches I think.

You'd have to be fully gay and hate cars to not like that. Very sexual example of a MK1

Very appealing, apart from the already-mentioned lack of a decent axle out back.
