Apple 2step verification question

Hi

Do you all use 2 step verification for your Apple Id.
I have 2 apple devices that I use and I would like to have the extra layer of security but I'm wondering if it's more of a hassle than anything, for example will I need to use 2 step when I have to input my password on a known device or will it only request 2 step security if sign in on a new device?

just make them both trusted devices and it only asks you once to verify, I have 4 apple devices with 2 step enabled and its fine

Is that with text 2 step verification or the newer authentication version on ios9 and El capitan.

Not got the latest os yet but plan to update soon and read that comes with improved 2 step security?

it only really asks you for the second 'step' when you are changing something account related. not for just unlocking your phone. It's been enabled on mine for a while and i can't remember last time i was prompted.

Good to know, I was just a bit confused by the 2 step verification introduced in 2013 I think and apples new 2 factor authentication on ios9 and el capitan.

I'm guessing there the same thing basically but if you have the newer software it will use the newer features.
