Apple offer two types of educational discount. The straightforward Educational discount is available from apple website and gives approx £100 off the base Macbook Pro. My son qualified by going to high school. Then there is the higher education discount which offers 12% off, but you have to go to uni.

If you know a student, use their details. You don't have to order on their network, you can phone up. Or just wait/save up/sell yourself.

Im guessing your still at school, meaning your not 18 and there for not legiable for the discount however that said they never checked when I ordered on the phone, did not even realise that you had to be 18 and they never asked about student details. Although I was a student.

Its been a while since I was a student, God I missed being poor. Higher Ed means College/6th form and Further Ed means university from what I can remember.

I have heard that a few people have managed to get the discount that ain't even students.... I've not done such a shameful act but you need a student card (NUS) that you can only get once your a student at one of those places.

I think the 18 year old thing is just there as they expect you to pay the item on a debt/credit card and you have to be 18 to have one of thoses...

My niece a discount by just poping down to the local apple shop, she looks the right age, plus she dresses like a tramp (the poor people kind and not the lady of the night kind) and she walks around with one headphone stuck in one of her ear (must be glued in by wax or something) and the other one just hanging there, so she had to be a student .

It all depends on how badly you want or need the discount... but if everyone scams them - they may just stop offering it to the people who really needs it.

Yeah it's 12, but I don't think you can get one that can be used for buying on the tinternet until your 16.

Depends a lot of places accept Solo and Electron now. They work differntly in that you cant have an overdraft its litterally a cash card which also works in store and online.
