Apple Game Console?

It would need to be updated to support 1080p too if you were going to put a Blu-Ray drive in.

But, to be honest, they may as well put a Blu-Ray drive in the Mac Mini and call it a Apple TV Pro. :/
 
But if they did make Apple TV HD ready with a blu-ray of HDDVD drive I think it would be worth the extra cost. Maybe an internet browser as well?

But on a side note, think how cool it would look. Definitley be the best designed console :)

Well, the design if competing with the George Forman Grill Type PS3 or the I'm Big and Evil Green Rings of fun (or RRoD), Apple might win aesthetically but will fail in the raw power and gaming department (EA games will no doubt release many of their games there, bringing down even more poo...)

Unless of course, Apple worked something out with Intel and/or either one of the Graphics Giants... The iPhone was good enough because of the touch and OS X intuitiveness but a console?! Even if it's handheld, the DS is doing more fine than fine in that area, inc touch-screen.

Perhaps now when everyone, even most Apple lovers are saying WTF, Apple will deliver something to smack back in my face.
 
The market is saturated. 3 different companies already competing for gamers, plus the pc. They wouldn't be able to get any market share. And if you thought the ps3 was expensive.....

And with Apples pricing it would be even worse, the psp and ds have shown that people won't pay £35 for a handheld game. :p
