I've just spotted the Apple iPhone 3G S 32GB Sim Free for a touch under a grand, does this not strike anyone as ever so slightly mental?

The HTC Touch Pro is under £500 Sim Free and is more or less on par with the iPhone.

Shocking value for money :/

But it's not an iPhone though and nothing bar an iPhone will run iPhone OS which makes the iPhone the best phone imo. I wouldn't pay £999 for one though.
 
Well obviously you are not getting something exactly the same, I'm just saying that it has the same feature set and is half the price out of a contract. You seriously can't tell me that iPhone OS is worth a few hundred pounds extra? It's just a fashion accessory and many other phones can do the same job or even better.
 
It's only for that much because there is no unlock for the 3Gs yet. Except for in one country you can get iPhones sim free. It's clearly just somone trying his luck, and no dought somone with money will buy it to have the first unlocked one in his country for bragging rights.

You say other phones can do the same job or better, but can they? Out the box, yes an iPhone is like any other large screend touch screen phone. Then once you get into modding it it's a hole new world, hell you dont even have to mod it, there are SOOO many apps it does EVERYTHING, remember, it's not just a phone, it is a fasion accessory, it is a mini computer, and it is a portable gaming system....

Ive never been a fan of apple but i fell inlove with the iphone (Not enough to buy anything else apple tho :p )

And dont you have a sony erricson? haha
 
I've just noticed that it's dropped to £899.99 at a very well respected etailer.

What has my phone got to do with it? I refuse to pay an extortionate amount of money for a whole list features I'll never use. I got my W995 free on a £17.50 a month contract with unlimited data so ho hum. Rather than than paying £35 a month for 18 months and still having to pay £184.98 or £274.23. I have an iPod and my phone does everything I want it to do including MSN, web browsing, music which is arguable better quality than the iPhone and to me sounds a little richer than my iPod. Not bad for free :)

You also get what you pay for, I got my iPhone on PAYandGO then put in my Orange sim. Unlimited Data, 10 MMS, Unlimited texts, 600Mins £30 a month.

And the reason i brought your phone into it was how can you rip on a phone when your using a **** poor phone? Have you ever even used a iPhone? By use i mean not just touch it and wish you could have one
 
Oh and your OP makes it seem like thats the price of iPhones unlocked it's not, its free to unlock, and compare it to a touch, lol.

Thats just one person trying to make some money, i could get a w995 and unlock and put it on eBay for £800, would you then make the same post? Or would you think bah just one idiot
 
I find it hilarious that you just rip into my phone despite never using it yourself, doesn't that reek of hypocrisy? Yes, I have used an iPhone and I wasn't overly impressed, yes you can have apps but unless you jailbreak the thing, apple have you by the nuts. As for wishing I could own one, I can EASILY afford one many times over, but I'd rather spend the money on other things. I didn't even rip into it, I said it offered poor value against it's other competitors which is a well known weak point and you can only counter it with "LOL Sony Ericsson" despite my crap phone having a much better camera...

My phone: Nothing + £17.50 x 18 = £315
iPhone 3Gs on a similar contract to mine: £275 + £35 x 18 = £905

Not really worth the extra £590 for me in my eyes and considering the HTC and other rivals work out a lot less, I can't see how you can say the iPhone isn't shocking value for money.

As for the apps you can get with the iPhone, it usually boils down to a lot of rubbish with a very small amount of useful apps.

Acctually i have owned your phone, and a few other erricsons, and all of them have ended up breaking long before the contract was over.

And yes £590 more is very much so worth it

Oh just seen your point about your camera being much better, you do realise it acctually is not dont you?


I see what people mean when they say your a fox wanna be, act like your better than everyone else, but realy your just a pale kid :o
