I'm going to purchase the new mac keyboard and mighty mouse. Now, I sort of have a hatred towards any form of wireless accessory due to bad experiences in the past, so it'll need to be wired. This causes a slight problem as my macbook only has 2 USB ports. One for an external HD, one for a mouse.....where would the keyboard go?

I've just read:
Its extended layout includes document navigation controls and a numeric keypad. And two USB 2.0 ports enable you to easily connect your Mighty Mouse as well as a high-speed peripheral such as a digital camera or printer.
Does this mean I can plug in an additional 2 peices of kit into the keyboard? I could have the keyboard with the mouse plugged into it? Leaving my macbook usb port free?

Ta :)

You can charge an ipod/mobile/iphone off the left USB port at least on the new style keyboards.

Edit: when it's attached to a new style iMac, it says, but I swear at least one of them works to power things on my Macbook... hmmm. I shall go and investigate!
