Hi, I need some help. i have customers who need to Display a presentation on a MAC, but when I connect the Apple MAC Laptop to VGA port on the Lectern nothing displays on the projector screen.
I dont know much about Apple Macs, Are there any settings or Function key I need to press to get this working? Any help will be appreciated

If the AV install doesn't preserve EDID then the Mac will refuse to see an external display, and to the best of my knowledge you cannot force it.

I get this on most of my Mac units, and it's bloody annoying.

What I've found is rebooting with the screen plugged in seems to increase the likelihood of it working.

3rd party Mini-DP adapters can be a bit variable. I've found the proper Apple one is the best option even though it's £LOL.

I think it may be more to do with VGA that DP specifically. I've DP macs, and USB-C ones. When I connect to our old crappy VGA stuff I often have to reboot while connected to the screen to actually see it.

Doesn't seem to happen with our newer HDMI stuff. The newer USB-C macs seem to make our Surface Hub screens flash on and off if you don't use the legit Apple adapters though.
