I'm updating mine now.

Yay! no more of that noise that the optical drive makes when you wake the Macbook up from sleep :)

The Airport client update is being offered on my Mac Pro as well, but I'm surprised it needs a restart. That can wait until tomorrow.

the superdrive update is ace, wake from sleep is completely silent now

GREAT! That was incredibly frustrating when waking up my MBP... will they be offering the same kind of update for the Mini?

I wish they'd mentioned in the instructions the quite frankly terrifying noise that is emitted before it starts the EFI update.

Little confused - after installing this, now whenever the Macbook wakes from sleep, it momentarily displays the mouse "connection lost" thingy. My bluetooth mouse is turned off (as usual) and it never used to do this!

Did you also download the Superdrive Firmware 3.0 update?

That sorted it for me. I can't say it was that big of an annoyance for me. Kinda strange that it's taking them over a year to sort it out though.

I wasn't offered it either. My MBP (Mid-2009) isn't included in the Knowledge Base article so I'm going to assume that's for good reason and play it safe.

No firmware update here on a Mac Mini.

Did get an AirPort update though.
