Apple OS X on VMWare, who runs it?

Looking to get Apple OS X on VMWare for work, rather than using the several Mac's we already have. Has anyone done this in an enterprise environment, and know's about the licensing implications?

it's not allowed by apple and even talking about it on these forums is a no go. i wouldn't be surprised to see this thread locked.

Any threads or posts in here discussing how to do anything that is against Apple's EULA will be removed and repeat offenders will be punished suitably.

apple won't let you run OS X on anything other than their own hardware. that won't stop people trying but i would not try it in a corporate environment if you want to keep your job.

Thanks for the answer marc. Obviously I had no idea it was against the EULA (hence the licensing implications part!), and certainly no idea that it was against forum rules to even ask the question.

I put the question here because it was running on a windows platform. Secondly, it's about running it on VMWare, I am not trying to run it natively. I know it's possible, as said.. I was asking about anyone who has actually done it, and if they knew if it was legal or if you could license it from Apple.

EDIT: Looking around the net elsewhere it does seem that the above is very much true :-(

Shame as there is no way in hell we are going to be buying a load of Mac's just to ensure compatibility. Maybe one (to go with the two we already have). I'll continue looking at getting our latest machine upgraded to the latest OS, but this is not an ideal situation for testing software.

Apple force you to buy their over priced hardware to run their OS. It works perfectly fine as a VM. I ran an OS X Lion version last year. It wasn't in a corporate environment, more playing around when revising for my VCP5 exam.
