Wow so the latest M5 version of my 16"" M4 Pro MBP I bought exactly a year ago is £800 more than what I paid!

I suppose this was inevitable really just look at the Micron share price over the last year.

Glad I bought my 14" M5 Pro when I did. It had a £2200 RRP at the time but I got it for just under £2000. It's had a £300 increase so RRP is now £2500. Crazy. Although some other places are still selling them at around £2000 for now.

So what do we think? Is this an attempt to offset phone price rises as it seems quite the rise for some of those products in particular like Apple TV.

Or is it just a case of phone prices will increase as standard from the new releases.

They are offsetting phone prices definitely as that’s their biggest source of revenue, they will want to increase the prices on those as little as possible.

Wow, so glad I refresh my Mac set up last year, I know it's not the latest stuff but M4 and M3 MBA (24/512 for £800) is a complete bargain now looking back.

It's like that at work when I spec and price up a server, by the time management have signed off on my budget requests (and we're only talking 2-3 weeks) the cost of my SSDs and DIMMs have shot up several thousand $ each, and I get all that at cost.

Makes it impossible to plan anything.
