Apple Quicktime issues

Whenever i play a .mov file in quicktime, the sound and the video aren't in sync. Some of the vids are like that anyway but most of them used to sync perfectly and now they don't. I've got the latest quicktime software installed.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Is this a file on your PC or a movie in a browser? Tried uninstalling and re-installing?

It's a file on my pc. I've had them for ages and they used to run fine. I've tried un-installing and re-installing but it hasn't worked.

Tried Quicktime Alternative? The video might play OK in VLC or MPC if you have QA installed.

I've tried that and it hasn't made a difference. Is there any chance it could be the video card? I'm running a 6800gt on the latest nvidia drivers.

Could be. You say the problem has only started fairly recently? So have you changed the drivers recently?

Yeah, i was using the old 94.xx drivers up until about a month ago. I get those installed and see what happens.

Still didn't work, i think it might just be the graphics card being old and cranky

you using XP mate?

there are/were known issue's with XP and quicktime, although I'm not sure if Apple fixed them.

Yeah, i'm using xp. I have been for years but it's only recently i've had the problems. I'm thinking it might be something to do with a recent update. It only happens with some of the video files though, ironically the ones i want to watch the most.
