I'm buying a Macbook Pro in June and wondered if anyone has bought any Apple products from the refurbished store? They are around £250 cheaper than the store and have the 12 warrenty ect, I just don't want it to turn up covered in scratches or dents. If not I can use a education discount to get the 15" 2.33Ghz Macbook Pro for £1,562, but a refurb is £1,429 which is a better price.

I'm shelling out for a refurb macbook pro in a couple of weeks (pay day). I've heard nothing but good things about the refurb kit from apple from people on here.

Ahh, that's good to hear. May shell out for the 17" version :)
Go for it.. the real estate is huge, but the laptop isnt that much bigger than the standard 15.4 version :)

ps.. how you find your Canon 400D?

My bros got the EOS 1D mk II but that's too pricey, and I was looking at the 400D for a suitable option for myself. Comments?

Yeah, it's great had it quite a while now and had no problems with it what so ever. It always has good reviews in the photography forum :)

I got a refurb Black Macbook couple of months ago. Looked like old stock that never sold (it was a Core Duo model). I have a Core 2 Duo 20" Imac at work as well - that looked brand new when I got it.

Nothing but praise from me.

aren't the normal education discount and the higher education discount the same?
Nope.

The higher education discount is significantly more (see FAQ for full prices)

What was the quality like? Brand new?
Mine was a refurb with 33% off the original selling price (:D) and it's absolutely, completely, 100% perfect. Apparently the CPU is a few Mhz slower than the current range but tbh I wouldn't ever notice :D

Yeah the 2.16Ghz models have 33% of and the 2.33Ghz models have 16% off IIRC. Will probably go for a refurb, or maybe a brand new one on the bay, someone was selling brand new Macbook Pro's 17" 2.33Ghz, top spec ect.. for £1,350. Shame I don't have the money yet :(
