How annoyed was I when the mp3 player I bought to do some exercise was made useless by the fact that when sweat runs down the cable in to the remote on the headphones, they short out and dont work any more.

Apple wont give me a refund as they wont accept its a fault with the product.

I mean it was only £44 but still its really got me miffed. Oops, I guess this should be moved to the apple forum but I thought id share it.

tbh you could have got those sony things were its built in to the headset itself

Still that shouldn't happen at the moment I use my phone, while I m out on the bike, so its in my jersey pocket....which than gets a little wet but no problem there

or a scandisk clip thing....small light...might be a bit better than a ipod shuffle need alone the sound

yeah the good thing about the shuffle is that I can download a podcast I like, above and beyond trance around the world for free every week.

Else I would ditch it.

Odd. I'm using a shuffle for cycling, and was thoroughly rained on yesterday. No shorting issues here. Have you tried it with different headphones?

Yes - but some devices don't support it.

I can't think why else you would be able to get a podcast and need an ipod to listen to it (as the OP was suggesting).
