Apple store price matching?

Has anyone ever managed to either get an apple store to price match or give goods to the value of as way of a discount?

I'm in the market for a new mbp and I can get one online from a particular store for cheaper.....
Just wondering if I'm going to be wasting my time asking.

I didn't think other places usually sold them cheaper, but there's a certain online store which is doing the base 15" model for £150 cheaper. If it was just a few £££ I wouldn't be that bothered, but that's a 10% saving....

Thanks for the replies, nipped in to the Newcastle store today but it was packed (mainly it seems, kids checking their Facebook profiles....).
I might pop in again tomorrow, when it's a bit quieter. No harm in asking if they'll at least chuck a couple of extras in is there? If not, it's buy online or check the refurb store!

Well, I managed to get into the store today.
Spoke to an assistant and explained the situation, she said they don't normally, and would have to check with the manager. She looked online and made sure the spec was identical, then went off and asked him. They went onto another machine elsewhere as she showed him. 2 minutes later, she came back and said yep, all approved!

3 minutes work, £150 saved! Smashing!
