Have to agree here TBH. Also the comment about OSX being a lot more stable and more responsive than Vista is all down to personal experience.
I've personally found OSX a nightmare with random lockups and a good deal of stalling while loading programs. In contrast most PC's i've use with vista have very few issues - indeed my PC in sig cuts through vista (and any program i use) like a warm knife through butter.
I'd only get a mac for very specific 'apple only' programs. Everything else and it'd be a PC by a country mile.

The Macbook I have had is the most unreliable laptop I have ever owned. They are so badly designed that they cannot get rid of heat. As a result, it has killed 3 hard drives and required a new motherboard. None of my "Windows" laptops have ever had this problem, including an old P4 desktop based one. My friend's Macbook Pro was exactly the same, problems after problems so he got rid of it.
My girlfriend had one also and had similiar, she done the right thing and sold it, I still keep mines as its alright as a basic web browsing machine, anything else and it reaches 9,000C and creates a mini black hole (and this is with smcfan on full and cleaned vents etc)
As mentioned previously, you can get the same spec PC equivalent for far less, and the chance to run a zillion times more software.
Hardware aside, I personally find Vista/XP miles better to use than Mac OSX. I also get those stupid lockups where it does not respond for a few minutes even when doing a simple task. I have seen this on many Macs....
What's the arguments for using a Mac over Windows? Specialist software? Void. Reliability? In my experience, definately void. Looks great? Don't care, it's a PC not an ornament.
