AppleCare one - how does it work?

So I'm getting a new phone and MacBook Pro soon and have been stung by not having AppleCare on my laptop so considering getting AppleCare one so that I am covered for 3 devices.

I'm going to get an iPhone directly from Apple but since Apple hiked up the prices on MacBook Pros I'm considering getting an M5 Max unopened from a reputable seller on eBay.

With these though, often whilst they are brand new they were purchased more than 60 days ago so aren't eligible for AppleCare. So how does that work if I want to add it to AppleCare one? I have heard of people adding much older devices.

Have you read through the existing thread already?

hi, yes I did thanks, didn't really answer my question.

I just did this a few days ago. After you get applecare one it lets you select devices tied to your apple account.

Added a 2+ year old apple watch and 3 year old macbook pro with no issues.
