I bought my Macbook Pro in September 2006 with HE discount and therfore got applecare for free.
Recently the battery has been dying (understandable after 2.5 years!), so I rang Applecare on the offchance and they said they would replace it for free! :cool:

Great service from Apple, most companies would have said STFU after 6 months even with an extended warrenty!

Yeah, I got mine replaced under the HE warranty after 1.5 years. It's great as it's a 3 year warranty as standard

I might give them a ring I have had mine just over a year and it has gone through 240 cycles already (use it at uni quite a bit.)
