Apples big push?

Couldn't give a hoots about gaming, they better not buy Adobe. Can say goodbye to it being equally as good on both platforms if they have their fingers in the pie.
 
hmm an apple owned EA I'd have thought activision would have been more apples market, you know all flash no substance knocking out the same thing year on year in a new box :p
 
Apple to buy Sony? Can't see it myself. Would be crazy if that went ahead though. I can see them grabbing EA though. I do think it's only a matter of time until Apple move into the console market and this might represent an initial tactical manoeuvre.

sony is worth several hundred billion and makes more money a year than apple has saved up :p

I don't think they could buy them even if they wanted to.
 
Why would Apple by Adobe? I'm sure they could, but I don't know what they'd do with it. Jobs has pretty much rubbished many of Adobe's products and doesn't appear to see a place for them in Apple products.

Jobs only rubbishes the products he has competitors too, or at least a vested interest in the competition of said Adobe product. Which is understandable from the CEO of the competitor company. What has be rubbished besides Flash though?

article says sony made a loss of 440 million, wouldnt it be up to the share holders with a company in that position. Their all corporate fat cats so depends how much they want a big pay day and if sony can turn around their fortunes. ipod beating sonys attempts xbox beating ps3 and samsung stole a lot of their tv business.
 
Imagine if Apple bought Facebook and then made the Facebook app an iPhone exclusive!

Twitter feeds are ablaze with the Sony acquisition rumour. I reckon big news is coming.
 
Should be good for a laugh, apple and gaming go as well together as sugar in a petrol tank. Its always amusing to hear the die hard apple fanboys screeching about this or that "doesn't matter" because its weak on their platform (gaming being one thing) but as soon as they finally get some its the greatest thing since sliced bread...
 
The only reason Song & EA are being mentioned is because I believe Apple buying EA would be for gaming exclusivity for their Apple products...not that I see much profitability in that sale.

if they do push into the market in any reasonable way it's going to be bad news like the consoles, devs will make for the lowest common denominator, currently consoles but it may become the underpowered macs if they represent a decent enough sized market. :(

sounds about right though, both companies shovel out the same **** every year with a pretty new bow on it (although apparently no testing) and proclaim it's infinity times better than the previous version, and nothing else can better it until the second coming of christ :D.

They wouldn't look at developing games for the Mac tho, they'd mainly be looking at games for the iPhone and probably an entirely new console device.
EA would be a sensible acquisition for them from that point of view, but I can't see them buying Sony - they'd be buying a lot of business they don't have an interest in.

Just have to wait and see how things go, apples marketshare is still laughably tiny, somewhere in the region of 5% globally. Yet listening to Steve Jobs and his BS you'd think they owned 99% of the market, (reality distortion field y0).
