Apple's Most well made Application?

Itunes on Windows is horrid, it runs in the background when you don't want it and if you disable it Itunes just breaks. Why can't it just run when it detects your iphone

This is what it does. It doesn't rnn in the background but it needs additional process so it can detect your phone and launch.

iTunes for me too. The worst? Logic probably, it's still too buggy despite the latest version being nearly a year old.

All on OSX:

iTunes
Front Row
Safari
Garage Band
Mail

:) I love all of them, especially iTunes and Mail, Garage Band I don't use too often but when I do I think it's a well made app. I also agree with the opinion that iTunes doesn't work very well on Windows, but then I'm the kind of person who likes to keep all their programs as native as possible, all Apple made programs on Mac and all Microsoft made programs in Windows, I just think it works better that way.

ive never really understood why people hate itunes on windows so much

whats the other stuff that people hate so much ?

Because it's nasty and installs loads of carp with it. It's also slow and buggy. What I also don't like (may have changed in the last year) is that if you want to install either quicktime of iTunes (specifically quicktime) it insists on installing the other. Luckily I use quicktime alternative instead...

Having said that it seems to be a common thing recently. Adobe really aren't trying to be my friend with all of the carp it installs whenever you install any of it's software (PS, Dreamweaver etc). It installed about 8 startup programs with it and there is still some crappy update program that keeps popping up! :(

The trouble with iTunes on Windows is the junk that comes with it. Fortunately it's fairly easy to kill and disable - not sure why it is causing you issues as it works fine for me. The trouble is it's fairly sloppy as well so definitely not a win on Windows.

Apple should just do away with Itunes and just let us copy and paste to the iphone/ipod like any other storage device :(

Another thing I found out yesterday, itunes is needed to tether the iphone, so you have no internet and you need to d/l an application to connect to the internet o_O

No it's not. Enable tethering on the iPhone, connect to it via Bluetooth or USB and it works, iTunes isn't involved with that process.

I remember the first time I used an iPod and was playing about with syncing options and was just blown away by the ease of use. I had come from a 20gb brick MP3 Player with MusicMatch Jukebox and it was just a clunky, horrible experience.

Haha, me too! I went from an early 8mb MP3 player/MusicMatch Jukebox (parallel printer connetion too :D) to a USB iPod/iTunes. Awesome stuff!
Then again Spotify has done the same to iTunes as it did to MusicMatch :o
