Application Install: install package failure.

I have recently brought a new motherboard, CPU and GPU. I have done a complete clean install of windows. Formatted everything, then installed the mobo drivers from the disk provided and then done all of the 100's of windows updates.

Then when i came to install the AMD Drivers for my GPU i get to installing the the Catalyst Install Manager. And i get the error : Application Install: install package failure.

I have used the auto detect driver facility from AMD to try and got the same error. I then used Driver Sweeper in safe mode to clean the drivers and manually downloaded the drivers and got the same error on install.

In the device manager it doesn't show as Radeon R9 290 but as Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

I have genuinely ran out of ideas of what the issue could be and was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

First off I would get the latest AMD drivers because you seem to be using 14.12 (2014) and they are old as the latest are 15.x

You didnt state the OS.

make sure you have the latest .net installed too (4.5 I think)

as stated above get the latest GPU drivers from the AMD website. if I ever do a clean install I always get my GPU drivers online as they can change quite often.

Im confused, You say you've got two gfx cards in there?

Take one out and test.
