Applications using AVX instruction set? other than Prime.

I've tried using AIDA64 which seems to pass 12 hour runs quite easily even with my 5820k at 4.5GHz but this doesnt use the AVX instruction set, which from what I gather causes an increase in temps.

Prime, OCCT and Intelburntest all fail, some faster than others.

Do any applications or games use AVX instructions? how reliable is AIDA64 for 24/7 stability testing?

Thanks for posting that, looks like a few are using this and that was back in January so could be a lot more now.

Might have to stop using AIDA64 in that case

If a stress tests fails then an overclock is not stable. Personally I would not be happy with an overclock until I know that it can remain stable with everything I throw at it, AVX or not.

The problem with AVX stress tests and haswell is the temps, due to being pasted instead of soldered they just cant cope that well with the heat. Not even high end custom watercooling helps, unless you delid were 20c temp reductions are possible. Mine in sig at stock will hit 94c in seconds under p95, all three hw i7's I've owned were the same.
