Hi

How do you start your email applying for a job which is being applied for by email.

I have never known the most sucessful method.

In all cases, I do provide my CV as an attachment.

The majority of the roles that I'm applying for any Customer Service/Admin Roles, within offices.

Any examples etc would be appreciated

Thanks
Ace

The position I'm applying for is email application only. (inclduing my CV)

So far I have come up with the following

Dear Mr. Whitehouse,

I am writing to apply for the Hire Desk Co-ordinator position advertised on the Job Centre Website.

The opportunity presented in this advertisement is very interesting, and I believe that my strong administration linked with my excellent customer service skills will make me a very competitive candidate for this position.

Please see my attached CV for additional information on my experience.

I can be reached anytime via email, alternatively after 4:30pm on my mobile/landline telephone number which are both included on my CV. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about this employment opportunity.

Seems fine. After reading through dozens of emailed in CVs I can say that just managing to use proper english words and speeling puts you above most...

When sending a CV via email ALWAYS follow-up with a call, no matter if they state "email only" or not. It will get you remembered, and I used that strategy with great success when applying for jobs last year.

that's basically what i put, don't forget to include the reference number for the position if there is one and double check that you've actually attached the documents you want before sending ;)

I actually got my current job by applying via email. Use you covering letter in the email body and attach your CV, jobs a good'en.

I only ever applied for 1 job via email, didn't get it but I put the covering letter as the main body of the email and also attached the covering letter and CV in Word format.

I actually sent an email saying;

"Hello" (With a CV attached).. and I got the job

In fairness though Gmail had saved a draft of the message but my net connection went down while sending it. After I reconnected I hastily clicked "send" only for it to send the draft.. Imagine my face when I saw the sent message!

I chaulked it down to me being an impatient idiot, yet 24hrs later they called (based on my CV) and asked me for an interview.
