Many organisations offer an app for their company or services. I personally prefer to use a Web browser to view them. I'm not keen on having dozens of apps for random websites which I may only use once. I prefer a browser which is not restricted to one company's services. Some, such as banking I do have but most, not so much.

Are you a happy appy chappie or do you prefer a Web site?

website almost always, it also really bugs me that when you click a twitter link in a thread/google that it shuts you out after a few seconds unless you sign in, I'm not signed up to twitter and have absolutely zero desire to do so

Web site infinitely preferred as you get the extra security layer of the browser. Apps seem to be bloat trying to fill my phone memory and ask for excessive permissions for their functionality. Bog off !

Generally stick to websites as most of the time the app is just a crap version of their website anyway.

I definitely prefer websites - less bloat on my phone, less chance of them picking up extra bits of personal data to exploit via all of the permissions that some of them require etc.

For so many apps there's absolutely no reason why they couldn't just be a Web page, but some places (especially reddit, as an example) deliberately bork the website to make you get the app which really grinds my gears.

Interesting reading above and one I'm not sure of, but we hear all the time of large sites being cracked, but has this happened yet to apps

Websites mostly.
Apps if it's beneficial, trustworthy and a regular user.

Apps I usually use are finance or shopping. But always trustworthy.

I wouldn't install any apps for forums, news outlets or one off shops.

All Banking, tesco, amazon, credit search companies are really the only ones I have apps for that also have websites
