Just in, US sales figures for the month of April. The Nintendo revolution continues apace, Pokemon anyone? The 360 again falls in below 200k which must be worrying a few at Redmond and as for the PS3, well, the figures speak for themselves.

Doesnt look like the Next gen figures are going to get anywhere near the Ps2 sales. Perhaps Sony and MS will not go for cutting edge next time and look more at nintendo's method.
 
As someone on Neogaf pointed out. Nintendo sold about 358k Wii's in Japan in April so it indicates they're shipping the same quantities to both regions and still selling out!

So that's 360k and supply constrained!

I think we have our next, err, 'last-next' gen winner!

I bet Sony are kicking themselves, they could have stuck the six-axis on a rebadged PS2, given it a silly name, charged twice as much and they'd be making a packet!
 
For the first time in Japan sales for the PS3 went below 10k units in japan last week. Not looking good for Sony at the moment. I dont understand all this wii nonsense, I have one and I'm well bored of it and theres nothing that really wows me released.

The yanks got Super Paper Mario, having a new mario title will be helping while we are still having a games drought.

It was the same with the PSone when the PS2 was released.
I would expect no less.


Saying that, I am absolutely staggered at the poor sales of the PS3. I guess Sony must be aware it's down to an awful lineup.
I've had mine 6 weeks? and I still have the same 4 games. Infact, as of this morning I now have more Blu-Ray movies than I do games.

I hate to... well no don't hate to say it, but I told you so!
Anyone remember my rather large post in November 2005 in regards to the 'next-gen' war? I covered everything I knew about the consoles from reading about it and everything I'd learned from Uni about games markets etc... and I catagorically stated that the Wii would blow everything else away, that Xbox360 will have the strongest list of games but struggle in Japan, that it would be stuck in the middle and that the PS3 would struggle for a long time with or without strong titles. :).
 
You have to take into account the prices of the consoles imo, how much is a ps2 now or a nintendo ds ? only stands to reason those and the wii will sell stupid amounts mainly for the price, i am sure if the ps3 and 360 cost the same as the wii they would out sell it easily.
 
Nintendo market there products so much better than Microsoft/Sony , When I watch the Wii adverts I'm really tempted to buy one lol :p

thats like saying if a ferrari cost the same as a skoda the ferrari would outsell the skoda ! what a ridiculous comment
 
Woah Sony really is in trouble, not selling in Japan as well as the USA, the good thing is it probably means a massive price cut soon enough :D

I agree - I originally thought they'd hold off on the price cutting until nearer Xmas, but if things continue, they're going to have to act before then.

you ahve to remeber sony went it to this round as the so called "big guns" microsoft are still fairly new at this game, and nintendo are just untouchable it seems
