As above, have my flow meter now and not completely sure where best to put it for the most accurate results?

I'm thinking to put it on the return line back to the pump as that'll give the worst case flow rate?

yup, thats where I have my flow meter - just before the pump inlet to give a true measure of the water flow AFTER it's been through the restrictive parts of the system (i.e. blocks etc)

I don't think it does bud - not when you take into account the restrictions/bottlenecks of the waterblocks (usually the CPU being the most restrictive)- they will slow down the flow of water.

but the water can only go into the loop at the same speed it comes out or you have a leek :D
Put it any where you want

So where does this water go? You will lose pressure because of restrictions... ie differential pressure between discharge/return but the flow has to be the same... it's a closed loop :)

Simple physics here guys... The flow rate will remain the same round the entire loop! The flow speed will be higher in narrow locations and the pressure might also increase and decrease in location but the flow has to be the same round the entire closed loop.

Laymans terms if you pour one bucket into the loop then one bucket will come out the other end, unless of course you have a leak.

Stick it where ever u like

Got the sensor installed and I'm under 1 gallon per minute!!

So I have a couple of Laing D5's coming in the post which I'm planning on using or should I keep my DDC's and run them in serial to try and get my flow rate up?

Lets assume that water is incompressible and you have no leaks... Then pump discharge flow will match return flow. Put the flow meter where ever you like :)

Correct.

Incorrect.
