Just been looking at the Aquaero 4 as I've been offered it for sale in a bundle.

Never really looked at it before, I've had a quick look at reviews but I'm a bit lost. Is it essentially just a fan controller that you can connect temperature probes to, allowing them to adjust fan profiles around this? Would it not give quite poor performance as it would be based on ambient temperature?

I've seen it mounted internally in a few cases. Isn't this pointless? Would you not have to open your case up to manually adjust fans

Will you be using this system with watercooling?

If not, then I would see if you can get the bundle without the Aquaero, as they are quite expensive.

The whole point of an aquaero (or other automated controller) is you don't need to do anything once set up.

You can set the fans (and pump) to low rpm's when surfing/office/movies and higher for games. Many be even a cpu fan bump for rendering, that doesn't change gpu and case fans.

If you want to manually tweek this - it's all done via windows.
No need to open a case door - or look under the desk

After 30min's of set up - it's set and forget.
Fans speeds can be linked to inc. Temp sensors, inline water temps, coretemp or mobo probes.

If you don't want it - get it as a bundle and sell it on.
I'm guessing it has a screen - there just bling imho (can be semi usefull if you case is on the desk)
But lot's of people are getting into watercooling for the bling

Ah, yes I am into watercooling. I can get the bundle without it but I was curious as its quite cheap. It is the one that's comes with the screen.

What's the difference between the 4 and the 5?

The 4 is the older model and is no longer supported.
The 5 is the current model and has more advanced features (most of which you probably won't use to be honest)

If you've got watercooling any aquaero is going to be a 'god-send' and once you have it configured correctly you'll just forget it was there (if it wasn't for the screen lol) as it will automatically adjust your fan speeds according to the water temperature.

This is something people forget as when you use a manual fan controller or the mainboard for example you are adjusting fans according to cpu etc temperature. With a watercooled system - Its the water temperature that is important not the component (CPU or graphics) thats important. The Aquaero (and a couple of similar products out there) are what I would call a MUST HAVE for anyone who has watercooling and likes to have a quiet system (like me!) ;)
