).
I have now got a better picture of your line. Using your line details I have made use of the tools BT make available to us and I have also called BT on your behalf to ask what others in your area/street are getting to help with the rough information.
Between the lot I am going to give you a "Worst case figure" and say around 4.5Mbps -> 5Mbps would be the average figure. This is slighty lower than I mentioned earlier, but I rather side with caution at this stage (read on).
The chap from BT Technical team advised that people around you are getting anywhere between 3Mbps and 7Mbps which indicates people with a mix of quality of lines. He could see that PSTN related work on your line had taken place and still waiting for final "close down", which is the engineer signing off work he has done over a couple of days.
I know from personal experience that BT claim my line will only get 5.5Mbps, but I have been syncing at just below 7Mbps for ages now.

Any opinion on Enta? Aquiss are very new (but from speaking to their technical support today do seem very good.

It depends on Aquiss' relationship to Enta. Enta themselves are mostly decent (but have their flaws, that I've already dribbled on about elsewhere), but that's not necessarily meaningful.
I wouldn't guarantee they're an Enta reseller either.
I'd be wary of swallowing that line they've fed you, because it's extremely unlikely they can see anything more than the BT checker shows you - because you aren't their customer.
I wouldn't expect them to have any direct contact with BTw if they're an Enta reseller either.
well the checker is still showingOur test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 1Mbps or greater.

what is the service still like with Aquiss ,are they still good and no throttling on p2p as you mentioned ?Pint said:Used them for about 3 months now, found them to be excellent.
Usually respond to e-mails very promptly, only bad thing is they work office hours, no 24/7 support.
They are reselling enta, they're also completely unthrottled with respect to traffic shaping. My P2P speeds have been through the roof since joining.![]()
