Aquiss is my ISP. They resell the Enta network bandwidth which is "shaped" but only as a anti packet loss which will throttle everyones internet (not port specific) (see here for how they do it) This is the most fairest way of doing it, so we get great pings all the time. This is here as a anti loss tool only. Enta are adding new bandwidth as fast as BT will allow them to.

Support are great, with a callback facility so you don't have to wait on the phone and they have a forum on their site, which once you sign up can get full access to. Aquiss and Enta pass on every piece of information onto the customer via noc.enta.net + the Enta staff are active over at adslguide forums.

I will only leave them for Be or another Enta supplier if I want a office package as it is slightly cheaper over at UKFSN. :p

got this letter from Aquiss support ,sounds good ,hope its true ..

Hi Neil,

We don't throttle any set ports. The overall system is designed the balance the whole network, regardless of service/port. This means that no user is treated as a "bad boy".

So, you wouldn't go for UKSFN solely because of his website? Give him a chance, lol, must be fun running it with 1 person. :p

I've personally heard bad things about Aquiss, and last time I looked they were more expensive for the exact same package.

lol. im sure ukfsn are good also but each person will have different views but mine are of the opinion that aquiss are a very good ISP, mind you i was with aol before. Aquiss may be a little more expensive but as i say if you need to ring customer services then you'll see why. At off peak id say speeds are on average 2/4kb/s mabye more depending and off peak is fine. I use my xbox 360 online and thats great no lagging as yet. So yeah if your after a decent ISP then i recommend aquiss, im sure theres worse out there!!

yes i agree with you there is worse out there Nildram & Pipex ,who strangely were 2 of the best isps a few years ago ,before someone got greedy and sold out ! funny thing is Nildram were the first to have ADSL with BT , and were great up until about october last year ,now its going down slowly ,i,m tempted to try Aquiss as there only a months contract ,plus there in more control of there service on Enta ,were as UKFSN is a reseller ,and not as in control .

Also forgot to mention, their billing company liquidised just before christmas when they took on another company which had commited £5m in fraud. It will be about 3 more weeks until the replacement is set up via DD, maybe a bit longer for it to become their permanent solution after testing. To pay them you have to use the less than ideal PayPal for the first payment if you migrate before they have sorted it.

Why pay to Aquiss when you can get the same service but cheaper from UKFSN or ADSL24(0800 support number)or other Enta resellers ;)

Take a look Here about how Aquiss treat some of their customers.

And take a look here: http://members.aquiss.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2034&highlight=

Also from the private area:

My contract with you ceases on 12th February so why have I been sent a bill for the next billing period?

Account details are not discussed in a public forum. Please contact [email protected]

However, as your service has not yet ceased, how would our system know Confused

Well, for one I have not discussed my account details. To do that would be to actually give you my account number or login or personal details which I have not.

Secondly, I have e-mailed support and typically received no response.

Thirdly, your system knows that I am to cease otherwise how would it know to cease on said day. Further to this, Martin provided me with written confirmation that my connection would cease on the 12th.

Regardless, if you are happy to send out pointless bill's etc then this is your problem, suffice to say I will not be paying it.

Still with the snyde responses to a simple question I see. Also still with the same old problems I remember when I used your service. Oh well, such is.

Also, if you go with Aquiss, make sure you haven't got an apostrophe in your name!! I have and when I didn't hear back from them for a few days I chased them up. Apparently their billling system can't deal with the dreaded apostrophe and no other solution was offered. This must have been an Aquiss issue as I signed up with Freeola who are another Entanet reseller and they happily took my business and my surname.
