Arc Raiders

If anyone here using discord when playing the game, especially if you integrated it from within the game, you might want to read this. Here is the summary from the article:

Summary

During gameplay of Arc Raiders, private Discord Direct Message (DM) conversations between two users were found being written in plaintext to a local game log file. Additionally, a full Discord Bearer authentication token was found stored in the same log file. These findings represent serious privacy and security violations that affect all players using Discord integration with the game.

oh hell. I forgot about the mission to get the flow controller and magnetron. I don't like stellar montis anyway and this mission nearly made me quit the 1st time
I would ignore it but I bet I need to get through it to get to the showstopper blueprint.

I've been putting that one off too. I'm still first time round though!

Hate to say it but I found the magnetron on my first day back after reset.

Just done a Stella night raid, picked up magnetron and Combat Mk.3 (Aggressive) augment.

Then went into Buried City night raid and found a wolfpack BP! Proper made up, first time I've ever found one and the best part? There were 2 other raiders in the same room, they looted everything bar one drawer and yep it was in there, proper luck that. Shame they're a bugger to make now though.

I'm about 125 hours into the game now and not really bothered with any of the missions, they just seem boring and a bit tedious tbh. Is there any point in completing them other than the blueprint and item rewards you get? Which can be found by just playing the game anyway

Haha very nice, yea I think the Wolfpack blueprint is the best item in the game, as so many of the trails are significantly harder without Wolfpacks.

I don't think farming rocketeers is too bad, as long as you find somewhere with good cover, I tend to bring a few stacks of seeker grenades as they speed the process up a bit and are dirt cheap to make.

I think the second best blueprint is Looting MK3 survivor, however...... I still think that it isn't that.... significantly better than the MK2, the augments in general need a bit of balancing in my opinion as most of them (even high tier ones) are rubbish.

In fact there is a few things that need a bit more balancing, warning long post in coming.

Heavy shields is one, the movement penalty is not worth it imo, and they are expensive/expensive to repair. They only give you a marginal bit more protection over a medium shield.

Some of the high tier weapons, Bettina is dog ****, Ophelian and Jupiter are pretty terrible as well, Jupiter gets outclassed by the Hullcracker in every way and can be bought for cash....Volcano gets straight sold if I find one.

Anvil Splitter, WTF? On paper it should do 20% more damage but the joke if it is, it doesn't, not against arc anyway, so unless this was intended for PvP (and then you'd just pick a ton of other guns or an anvil) it has no purpose, it just makes it worse lol. And this is a gold tier item!!

Vita Shots/Vita Spray/Surge shield rechargers all awful. All of those take waaaaaaay too long to activate. 4 to 4 and a half seconds will literally get you killed. The best two items are the standard shield chargers and sterilized bandages. Both can be activated in a second and a half, which means you can shoot/dodge roll/reload/whatever whilst the healing effect is kicking in, far more effective.

In fact I keep a half stack of fabric and or/pick up the arc power cells on the way and use those to top up shield/health on the go.

Most of the augments are rubbish when compared to the Looting MK2/MK3 survivor.

Yeh that's what I'm looking for at the mo, the Mk.3 survivor bp. Was my goto augment before the wipe.

Got all my workbenches to level 2. Will concentrate on levelling up my character this weekend (cuurrently at 22) then once I've got a bit more kit I'll look to grind all benches up to lvl 3.

I agree with the anvil splitter, was very disappointing considering it's legendary status. To think that was my first looted legendary item and had gear fear for weeks with it. Finally used it and what a crock!

Same with most of the gun attachments. As you go up the stack they all start having drawbacks that make them objectively worse than their lower rated counterparts.

I can't see the sense in using a lvl 3 silencer given the cost over a lvl 2. Same with all the grips and stocks.

Sure people still use them, but that's because people see blue, purple, yellow and get excited.

for me the biggest pull to redo them is the hullcracker blue print which I believe is the only way to get it.

that said 1st time around I did them because the story is mainly what I like about games and the story is told through the missions.

Yes I completely forgot about those and remembered when I was driving my kid to school and was goign to edit my post but I wont now.

Yes as you say, most of the level 3+ weapon mods, the penalties are not worth it.

The exceptions are a lightweight stock, which has uses on something like a Ferro/Osprey, I would argue.... possibly.... the level 3 silencer is ok on a Ferro, because a Ferro is dirt cheap to repair and doesn't break quickly anyway.
