I'm getting my butt kicked at the Space Port. Started to get over confident I think :p

This is a great game though, I love the fact I can just play at my own pace and not once have I been killed and it felt unfair. Every death feels like a learning experience as I know what I did wrong.

Loving the drama when you come across other Raiders too. I've been killed on an extraction point and then had my killer immediately killed in front of me whilst I'm on my knees lolling at the karma down the microphone and then their killer saves me and gets me home with all my loot. I've also been killed by Arc, called out for help only for some random to come over the hills and bail me out with me pleading for mercy so he revives me and sprints off before I have a chance to shoot him in the back

Also, it's extremely rare that I read any of the codex in a game but I'm finding the story really interesting in this one.

It's because it's actually finished lol. Imagine that, a game released that not only works but is completely polished.

That’s actually a very good point….no major issues reported, a couple of hotfixes/patches has been about it. Couldn’t have went smoother from what I can gather. When people research the game they aren’t meeting a wall of Reddit threads moaning about day1 patches, wide spread crashes etc - that’s gonna help sales.

Ok, so my crashes are now gone. I think it's something to do with the link on my desktop as if I launch it from within the AMD software it's rock solid.

Performs perfect on my system (9800X3D, 32GB, 9070XT) & feels rock solid now.

It's odd for a game to feel so polished at launch nowadays.

Only 1 bug ive had so far is getting stuck in a wall while opening a crate in the harvester. i tried for 5 minutes to get out but no luck, glad i didnt get anything good from the harvester. Loving the game so far.

I've been playing this a lot today, I've never really enjoyed extraction shooters but this has been really really good.

It looks great, the guns feel punchy, the sound is fantastic and I've not had a single issue with performance. I'm honestly surprised at how smooth this is!

Someone earlier made a comparison between this game and The Division.

Does this game have weather effects and a day/night cycle like The Division 2?

Edit - looks like weather is a yes. Edit 2 - And so is day night. Note to self. Search function exists for a reason.

I am getting an old blizzard feeling from embarks approach to this game. Essentially take an already existing genre that hasn't fully hit mainstream, take all the good bits from other games in said genre, make it more accesible and then package it up with fantastic graphics/atmosphere etc and polish like mad before releasing.

Not a day night cycle, but basically all the maps have modifiers on them which change how they behave. Some are weather, some cause it to be night, some arid and some lush. They alter not just the look of maps but the odds of finding certain types of loot, whether bosses spawn on the map etc. You can always select the base map to play from the menu, or you can select a modified version if they're available (these rotate on a global timer)

Night gives you better loot, but the Arc are more of a challenge. You can get wind which erodes sandy parts and reveals raider caches all over the map which have good loot in them. Lush will make fruits more common which you need for specific upgrades, arid makes them less common. There's a modifier which spawns the queen so if you want a shot at killing her with other groups you know when to take your best gear. The roadmap has in it winter modifies to release around Dec time.
