Arc Raiders

Fair one and I can see why they’d not want to. That said, I’d not expect them to switch completely to fpp - rather I’d have thought they’d run both options in tandem and let the player base decide which to play - if the did decide to add fpp.
Personally I don’t think they’ll do either (add fpp or PvE only) unless something disastrous happens and the player base falls off a cliff and it’s a last roll of the dice to entice players back but equally I don’t see the argument against fpp being stronger or weaker than PvE only. If one happens I’d be surprised not to see the other happen too.
I think having some people on a map on fpp and others on the map being on tpp will cause more problems than it solves and I dont see them running fpp as a seperate set of servers.

I could see them adding a pve mode, maybe in a years time or two years time but I just dont see them adding fpp ever. Put it this way, I would willingly place a big bet that a pve mode arrives at some point far down the road but I'd never place a bet that fpp will be added, it could be added of course, its a theoretical possibility, but so is Sunderland winning the premier league this season but not a likely enough possibility to stick a £1000 bet on it, nor on them adding fpp.

If someone said to me, I'd really like them to add a PvE mode, then I'd say, keep an eye out, maybe , in a few years, but if someone said to me, I'd really like them to add fpp , I'd say , its as likely as Tarkov adding tpp, so dont waste your hope on it :)

I can't see them changing anything anytime soon, the game is working as intended and growing in numbers.

  • 354,012players right now
  • 354,87924-hour peak
  • 354,879all-time peak 22 minutes ago
Yeah, I'm expecting them to break their all time peak this week. Its still gaining players at the moment, rather than losing them.

You couldn’t have too and fpp on the same server. It’s have to be separate instances.

Personally I’d not bet money on them doing either - you’ve a weird thing going on with this 100 quid bet you’re itching for :p - but I’d have thought one was as likely as the other (I.e. unlikely)
But ultimately we’ll see - what you or I want for the game is ultimately moot, they’ll do whatever they think is best - one can only hope that any changes they do make are positive.

I'm a betting man and its always interesting to me to see how much believe people have in any claims they make. I use it as a barometer for whether they truly believe something or are just being hyperbolic or overdramatic, exaggeration is rife in human communications :)

I think looking to get a 100 quid bet with randoms on the internet about the longevity of a computer game is pretty over dramatic :p - I for example don’t see the game having a huge shelf life as it currently stands, my gut tells me the game falls off a cliff in a few months once the novelty of the ai wears off - similar to helldivers - would I bet 100 quid on that happening, absolutely not. But it doesn’t mean I don’t believe what I’m saying is true.

See that makes no sense to me, because (and granted this is just the way my mind works), if I truly believe that something will happen, I'm willing to bet on it. If I think that bet might be a bit iffy, then I logically cant believe that something will truly happen, I must only believe that something "might" happen, rather than it "will" happen.

Case in point, I would happily bet £100 that it wont ever have fpp, thats how certain I am of that but I wouldnt bet £100 that it wont ever have a pve mode because I'm not certain of that.

Is this the best looking and best performing UE5 game to date? It's absolutely stunning and runs amazingly well.
Its certainly something...150fps with everything set on epic and rtx on, awesome lighting and audio and barely any technical issues...and all, as someone mentioned, for 30 notes.

Yeah...UO...one of my favourite MMOs of all time (and favourite gaming experiences ever full stop), wrecked because the players thought they knew what would make the game better, the devs listened...and it just made the game far worse, killing off the thing which set the game apart from others. Same happened with SWG, another brilliant MMO, ruined because the players said that X and Y and changing Z would be better, devs listened. Ruined the game and consigned the MMO to the failed MMO list. I always really rated Bullfrog as game devs, its why that interview with the Bullfrog guy has always stuck in my mind, one of the few devs I've known who has come out and blatantly stated that sometimes what the player wants might be the best thing for them as an individual but not the best thing for the game (paraphrasing)

UO was great for the time, really far ahead; it was on dial up modem era and all, played well. Next major one that lost it was WoW, soon as they dumbed it down simplifying everything and made insta-travel to locations the game only went in the downward direction.

And that makes no sense to me, it’s almost as if you need to make a bet or the idea of one to validate opinions.
In casual conversation like this where opinions are formed and sometimes changed needing to bet money in order to believe someone when they give their opinion seems absolutely bonkers to me.

But we’re away off on a mad tangent and I need my beauty sleep - have a good one dude and maybe see you in game at some point and no, I won’t bet on that :p

Blame my dad, he always drilled into me dont claim something as a definitive certainty unless you are willing to put your money where your mouth is :)
