Arc Raiders

I don't know why but tonight I've encountered so many hostile raiders, more than usual. I've noticed people are using the 'Don't Shoot' emote before opening fire too. You literally can't trust anyone. Anyone who genuinely doesn't want to get attacked can't blame people for attacking them as there are just too many people faking it so it's not worth the risk. Kill or be killed judging by my games tonight. :p

324,000 Steam count now.
I'm very interested to see what numbers Tarkov gets next weekend for its 1.0 release. It feels like Arc Raiders has introduced a lot of new people to the concept of PvPvE extraction shooters and they might well check out Tarkov off the back of that and I'm interested to see what this new wave of pvpve extraction players makes of Tarkov in comparison to Arc

Yup, I've had quite a few like that in the last couple of days. My stance now is to assume everyone is hostile unless they open comms by mic on immediate contact. And even then, I've had a few who have spoken calmly over mic for several minutes before backstabbing.

I'm predicting mixed or mostly negative reviews on day 1. I enjoy Tarkov a lot but its a mess, and I cannot see 1.0 fixing much. It'll be some balance changes, the new map, and the new questline. The game has been the way it is for too long for anything fundamental to change.

This was my experience tonight. A few times people shot me straight away where as previously people were being nice and collaborative.

I had one guy who I met in the apartments, we said not to shoot and then ended up going to the extraction zone, we called the train and got on and almost instantly he started firing at me. What the dumb ass didn't do was reload his gun before he started firing as he got off about 4 shots and then I was able to knock him down and loot him. That happened to me 3 times tonight, so when I grouped up with 2 friends later, we just shot on site.

Player interaction is noticeably getting worse now, it didn't take very long. It'll be interesting to track it once the honeymoon period is over and as the brutal reality of PvP takes over.

Apart from an unlucky spawn or not paying attention, it’s quite easy to avoid PvP interaction if you want to.

Just done some late night gaming on the new spaceport bunker event.. we went down with about 15 mins left on timer, 3 teams still there wiped them all out.. we started the puzzle but there wasn't much time to do it all as the extract was a little far, we got back to the extract with 2 seconds if we didn't loot the zip lines we would have never made it.

i came out with 2x tempest 5x venators 2x renegades

other 2 lads in my group came out with loads aswell..

was so many dead bodies down there it was a bloodbath

epic raid to end the night!

I had one encounter of a hostile player last night playing solo (lost some good gear :( ) but every other interaction I had was peaceful, and I extracted out with others a few times. That's in marked difference to a couple of days ago where I was getting repeatedly killed by players almost every session.

Whats everyones record for briefest time topside, Yesterday - I have got into the habit of accumulating good gear using crappy loadouts to loot, then going in rigged out to play properly - spawned with Epic loadout to get wasted about 30 seconds in :D

I did a run where I got in spawned near an exit and immediately exited, whole run was about 90 seconds. Thought I might get an achievement for that but nope :)

I had a similar experience last night, got attacked from behind in solos but they hadn’t quite finished me off and I ended up downing them with a L1 Stitcher and got some decent loot from them including a Lv3 Rattler. So next round decided to go out with a decent load out including my new Lv3 Rattler only to be attacked whilst looting a container and lose it.

What really annoyed me was I’d probably stalked my killer with the intention of taking him out as I could hear him nearby, so was waiting in ambush when he didn’t appear I decided to move on.

I actually still havent had anyone backstab, had a few aggressive players (but still only 2 out of every 10 players I've encountered) but I still havent yet had someone say dont shoot etc and then attack me.

Was always going to be the way. Once folk start getting geared and comfortable with the game the need to be friendly with randoms goes out the window.
